Ridin’ Rhoback

I feel there are 3 types of golf outfits:

  1. To steal a phrase from Bad Birdie, “Not your Grandpa’s golf shirt”

  2. The custom gear guy

  3. The who let this person out of the house and what in the world made you think this was a good idea

I want to give you an idea of where the guys on this blog fit.  There’s also a little trash-talking that will come out here, but it’s all in good fun and I hope I offend one, or two of them haha.

Group 1: Myself (for all that is good in the world, you do not need another golf shirt with some sort of floral design on it), Vhelm (Never met a small business he hasn’t bought a t-shirt and 3 accessories from), Jeff (As long as the Mrs. picks out the outfit), and New Brad

Group 2: Tommy “Limited drop by K.S. 1 of 1” Stansell

Group 3: Messy Slessy (honestly the best possible description of his attire) and Homeless Brad (Please burn that redwings polo that you found at the thrift store for $0.99 and then got 50% off)

The first company I want to touch on is Rhoback.  Their stuff is just on a different level from any other golf shirt or quarter-zip I own.  It’s truly remarkable.  I love the style, the fit, and most importantly the loud!  Their gear is every bit as loud as Waggle Golf, Bad Birdie, William Murray Golf, and the several other company shirts in my closet that I can’t think of the top of my head. Check out a few of my favorite shirts they have put out.

The thing that sets them apart from all the other companies is the comfort and the collars.  Rhoback’s material is just different and I swear just superior to all the rest.  It soft, breathable, and just has an awesome fit to it.  They also make great masks at a reasonable price. Check out a couple of my favorites below:

Rhoback has superb marketing.  Stuff I’ve not seen done by golf apparel companies.  I get a handwritten card and koozie with every purchase. On the card, they let you know if you submit a picture in the shirt and they use it on the site you get a free polo.  That is just genius! They must have thousands of people tagging them on IG in hopes of getting a shirt (they aren’t cheap).  Little things like that aren’t something I necessarily need, but extra unique acts just stick out in my mind.  They do this limited run every year where they make shirts for toddlers and young kids that can match their dad’s shirt.  That hits home hard with me (see the lil’ stoke above).  I was blessed this year by the birth of my son Luke.  I try every which way I can for us to match whenever we can.  I just think it is fun.  I am sure later on in life he’s going to think it is the nerdiest thing ever, but luckily, he’s only 9 months old and doesn’t know any better haha (plus he can’t dress himself yet).

The company outdid themselves this week with Email blasts.  Every day I was reminded this week was the only time of the year they run a sale.  They offered 20% off sitewide.  What was genius though, was they would send a different run of polos every day.  Stuff I hadn’t seen before.  If I didn’t have the responsibility of saving for Luke’s college, I would’ve probably spent a couple of mortgage payments on their website.  If you get a chance, I would check out the 20% off this week.  You won’t regret it.  If you are only going to get a polo, I am going to list a link at the end of this piece.  It is a $20 off coupon and saves you more than if you use the 20% off.  Unfortunately, you can’t combine it with the 20% off from what I heard (please try just in case my information is bad).  I can’t say enough good things about the company.  I suggest you give them a shot if you are looking for a shirt or quarter-zip during your holiday shopping.
